About The Project

This Manly West pool was created for impact. From the outset, the vision was clear: a pool that would elevate the backyard, turn heads from first glance, and deliver a standout lifestyle experience. The owners wanted something that was as beautiful to look at as it was to use, with enough wow factor to add value to the home in the long term.

Set on a gently sloping block, the pool was designed to sit above ground with a raised shell and infinity edge. This detail wasn’t just aesthetic. It allowed us to work with the natural fall of the land and avoid the need for bulky retaining walls. It also cleverly reduced the amount of leaf litter from a large neighbouring tree, making the pool easier to maintain.

Holding 40,000 litres, the pool features a custom-coloured interior from Jewels 4 Pools. It catches and reflects the light beautifully, giving the water a crisp, polished look from every angle. Mosaic tiles run along the waterline and steps, while Melbourne Bluestone was used for the coping and surrounding surfaces, chosen for its durability and timeless appeal.

Every element in this space was designed with useability in mind. The pool includes a spa seat, laminar jets with integrated lighting, and a removable clear acrylic table and stools that transform it from serene escape to social hub in an instant. For a client who values simplicity and technology, we installed a full Aqualink smart automation system that controls the lighting, heating and water features remotely.

The outcome

Though the project began with resale in mind, the client quickly found themselves drawn into the lifestyle it offered. The pool became a place to recharge, to entertain, and to enjoy the view. It is bold, functional and beautifully resolved. A modern outdoor feature that delivers all the luxury of resort living, without ever leaving home.
