About The Project

Tucked away in a peaceful Carina backyard, this pool wasn’t just about aesthetics — it was about creating a break in the chaos. The client, constantly on the go and pulled in a dozen directions, came to us craving stillness. Not a showpiece. Not a trophy. Just a place to stop, breathe, and feel grounded again.
The result is a 27,000-litre saltwater pool finished in a salt-and-pepper blend with soft green glass speckled throughout — giving the water a gentle, earthy shimmer that changes with the light. Coconut Ice mosaic tiles trace the waterline, catching the sun with just enough texture to feel alive. Framed in cool Parisian Blue Limestone, the pool blends into the space with calm confidence. Frameless glass and matte aluminium fencing keep the area secure without disrupting the open feel — with a clever mix of baseplated and core-drilled spigots used to suit the layout.
But the path to serenity wasn’t entirely smooth. During excavation, we uncovered a large, unidentified structure buried deep in an unusual location — something that hadn’t appeared on any of the existing services drawings.
After some investigation, it revealed itself as an old grease trap, long forgotten and entirely undocumented. It was an unexpected twist, but the team responded quickly — bringing in smaller machinery and keeping the client fully informed as we navigated the surprise.

The outcome

Today, the space quietly does what it was always meant to do. It’s there for early morning clarity, slow weekend dips, or quiet moments under the stars. It doesn’t scream for attention but if you spend a little time there, it rewards you with calm.
