About The Project

Bold, vibrant and unapologetically refined, this Paddington project redefines what hillside pool design can look like. Built into the steep terrain of Brisbane’s inner-west, the site demanded creativity, precision and a strong connection between pool, home and landscape. The client’s specification was for an outdoor space that balanced beauty and function, with a sense of privacy and calm. The design needed to create a visual link to the home above, while also forming its own distinct sanctuary below.
At the heart of the design is a luminous pool, wrapped in Raven Travertine and finished with a radiant red tiled water wall that steals the show. The glow of the Sicis tiles, carefully sourced through Elite Bathware and Tiles, turns the space into a vibrant focal point both day and night.
Access to the area was carefully considered. A structured staircase was designed to connect the upper and lower levels, guiding visitors into the pool terrace with ease and flow. Privacy was enhanced through thoughtful planting, allowing the space to feel enclosed and protected without sacrificing openness.
Under the surface, the pool is powered by a Zodiac AquaLink smart control system, making it easy to manage from any device. The interior finish was completed using a custom blend from Jewels 4 Pools, delivering a rich, polished tone throughout the water.

The outcome

What began as a challenging sloped block is now a layered, luxurious outdoor living space. It is a place that balances movement and stillness, colour and calm, structure and softness. Once immersed in the space, tranquillity takes over — and the view speaks for itself.
